Montana Saga Chapter 22

The FBI and local police stayed at the Harrington long enough to secure the scene

and search for any evidence that would help to find out where Francine and her son

Jere Harrington fled to. Harrison Grant, Roman Conrad, and Yellowstone's Elite Security Team sped toward Trauma 1Hospital to bring Diane Steahl-Harrington and her father-in-law Raymond Harrington to be checked out.

After five hours in surgery, Dr. Matthew and Thomas Haroman came out to the waiting room where the Steahl family, Lane family, Henry Conrad, and Zach Grant awaited word

on Rya's condition.

"Would the family of Rya Steahl follow me to the conference room."

Once Rya Steahl's family and friends, along with Dr. Matthew and Hand Surgeon Thomas Harman were seated, the surgical procedures and outcomes was explained to Rya's family and friends were explained in detail.

"How is our granddaughter Rya, Dr. Matthew?" Joseph Steahl asked.

Clearing his throat Dr. Matthew explained.

"When we got your granddaughter on the table and opened her up, she had a lot of

internal bleeding from the kicks to her abdomen that she took. I know this isn't easy

to hear, but you need to know. We lost and brought your granddaughter back twice

during the supracervical hysterectomy procedure that needed to be done to save

her life. She took two units of O- blood during the procedure. The severe kicking she took to the abdomen caused.. a deep tear at the fundus, the very top of her uterus. the lower segment and her cervix were completely untouched.

While the meeting with Rya's surgeon and and hand surgeon continue, the elite security

team arrive with Harrison Grant, Roman Conrad, Diane's father-in-law and Diane were seen in the emergency room for their injuries. Diane suffered a slight concussion, her

father-in-law injuries from being hit with his own cane by his wife Francine.

"How is my daughter Rya Mr. Grant, I need to know."

Harrison hesitated for a long beat. Then, he broke the news to Diane.

"After your daughter Rya celebrated her 26th birthday, the following day, Mr. Conrad's

son was going to graduate early. Your daughter Rya went to pick up a 24ct gold personalized belt buckle with Mr. Conrad's(Roman's) name on it, she was attacked on her way to pick it up. She's here in the ICU in a medically induced coma due to her head injuries

and kicks to her abdomen she received.

Diane broke down sobbing into Harrison's shoulder shocked at the damage inflicted to her

daughter, and the shocking realization of who is responsible, but keeping silent, not out of

fear, but out of the guilt she feels for not just leaving Jere, taking her daughter Rya with her and risking the consequences. Harrison wraps his arm around her comforting her until she cried herself out.

When they arrived at Trauma 1 Hospital. Harrison and Roman exit Harrison's truck first telling Diane, "Don't get out until both of us are outside the truck with a wheelchair." Harrison tells Diane resting his hand on her shoulder. Diane nods in agreement and

waits in the truck. A few minutes later, two curbside concierges arrive with two wheelchairs. One for Raymond Harrington, the other for his daughter-in-law Diane, both of whom are carefully transferred from the Elite Security Team vehicle to the wheelchairs and wheeled down to the elevators, where they were taken to the emergency room.

Shortly after checking in to Emergency, both Dian Steahl and Raymond Harrington were called back by different nurses. Roman Conrad escorted Raymond and waited with him, while Harrison Grant accompanied Diane and waited with her.

Each had their vitals taken. Diane felt a wave of nausea wash over her, and she vomited right in front Harrison Grant. She wanted to crawl inside the couch they were sitting on. Harrison noticed her embarrassment, smiled, wrapped his arm around her again and told her, "Diane, remember, I have a son. I'm used to seeing that Besides, both our families raise cattle, animals get sick too."

The physician's assistant knocked firmly on the door and walked in. She looked down, chuckled a bit and said, "clean up on aisle three I see. I'll just call the orderly and have him take care of that. "I'm Physician's Assistant Sasha Anders.

A couple minutes later an orderly came into the room Diane and Harrison were in

and cleaned up the floor.

"I apologize and am sorry you had to do that." Diane said to the orderly.

"It's my job ma'am." he smiled and left the room.
